SALEM—Rep. Kevin Cameron (R-Salem) and Rep. Katie Eyre (R-Hillsboro) will host a live telephone town hall on Monday, January 23 to discuss issues for the upcoming 2012 legislative session. The telephone town hall will also give Oregonians an opportunity to share their priorities and concerns as the Legislature prepares to reconvene.

“During the 2011 legislative session, we made some significant improvements in the areas of education, public safety and private-sector job creation, but we are still facing some tough times ahead in Oregon,” Rep. Eyre said. “I believe the more we can focus on the priorities of individuals and families in our community, the better job we will do in Salem. I’m excited to use this new technology to speak with my constituents and discuss how our work in Salem is affecting all of us in western Washington County.”

The telephone town hall will take place on Monday, January 23 from 7:00-8:00pm. Both Rep. Cameron and Rep. Eyre will be live on the call and will host the question and answer period with the phone call participants for nearly an hour.

“This is a great way for members of our communities to get involved and have a very real and honest conversation about Oregon’s future,” said Rep. Cameron. “It is important to us that we are representing our districts and our state to the best of our ability—I am looking forward to speaking with our constituents and finding out more about how we can better serve them in Salem.”

The telephone town hall will call in to 20,000 households in House Districts 19 and 29, who then have an option to join the live phone call with Rep. Cameron and Rep. Eyre. There is no cost to participants.

However, the town hall is not limited to their constituents. Other interested individuals can participate by signing up at either of their websites at http://www.repkevincameron.com or http://www.repkatieeyre.com, or by emailing one’s name and phone number to Rebecca Tweed, Rebecca@tweedandassociates.com.

For additional questions or comments, please contact Rep. Cameron at (503) 986-1419 or Rep. Eyre at (503) 986-1429.
